With each passing day and the release of new trailers, the world is eagerly anticipating the release of Black Mirror’s fourth season on Netflix. I had the privilege of getting to watch it in its entirety and all I can tell you is that it is EPIC. It was completely on par with the episodes that precede it and fans will not be disappointed when the modern-day Twilight Zone returns.

Now, I can’t share any major details on the upcoming season (trust me, you’re going to want to watch it for yourself), there are some things I can tell you! Season four will bring six new episodes with a diverse cast and even more mind-blowing storylines than ever before. Read below for some details (along with the trailers) on the upcoming season to hold you over until December 29th!

Arkangel, directed by Jodie Foster and written by Charlie Brooker, is a story about a mother and a daughter chronicled over the course of a few years. It takes place in a not-so-distant future and involves an interesting surveillance device. The cast includes Rosemarie Dewitt (Lala Land & Mad Men), Brenna Harding (A Place To Call Home), and Owen Teague (Bloodline).

USS Callister, directed by Doctor Who & Sherlock’s Toby Haynes and written by Charlie Brooker and William Bridges, is a feature-length episode set in space. The cast includes Jesse Plemons (Fargo), Cristin Milioti (Wolf On Wall Street), Jimmi Simpson (Westworld), and Michaela Coel (Monsters: Dark Continent).

Crocodile, directed by John Hillcoat and written by Charlie Brooker, is an unbelievable story (filmed in Iceland) about a device that can access memories as one remembers them. This episode is a thriller and will have one of its characters facing something horrible from her past. The cast includes Andrea Riseborough (Birdman), Andrew Gower (Outlander), and Kiran Sonia Sawar (Murdered By My Father).

Hang The DJ, directed by Tim Van Patten (Game of Thrones, The Sopranos) and written by Charlie Brooker, is an interesting story where the characters partake in an advanced dating system that dictates the relationships they will be in ahead of time. The episode follows two characters as they go through the system meeting partners. The cast includes Georgina Campbell (Broadchurch), Joe Cole (Peaky Blinders), and George Blagden (Versailles).

Metalhead, directed by David Slade (American Gods, Hannibal) and written by Charlie Brooker, is Black Mirror’s first black and white film that exudes a nightmare-ish vibe. The cast includes Maxine Peake (The Theory of Everything), Jake Davies (The Missing), and Clint Dyer (Hope Springs).

Last but not least, Black Museum, directed by Colm McCarthy and written by Charlie Brooker, presents its story in a similar format as White Christmas did with three stories in one. It takes place in a U.S. roadside attraction in the form of a museum that houses technological misdeeds. The cast includes Douglas Hodge (The Night Manager), Letitia Wright (Ready Player One), and Babs Olusanmokun (Defenders).
